As part of the North York Moors National Park's Dark Skies Fringe Festival, The Fox & Hounds is hosting An Evening Among the Stars on Saturday 22nd October, 7pm-9pm.

The Fox & Hounds is a traditional rural inn, located at the heart of the NYM International Dark Skies Reserve. Whitby & District Astronomical Society will be hosting the event in the garden, which offers uninterrupted views of the night sky. There will be several telescope stations in operation, each trained on a specific astrological feature. Guests will be able to walk between the scopes, view and learn about the night-sky from their expert hosts.

There will also be a winter cook-out, offering traditional seasonal warmers such as, jacket potatoes, roast chestnuts, pumpkin soup, pulled-pork, mulled cider and more...

Entry to the event is free, so just come along. Families and dogs are welcome and all the equipment and star maps will be provided. No experience or knowledge of the subject is necessary.
