The pretty fishing villages of Yorkshire’s heritage coast are less than 20 minutes away by car and a railway station in adjoining Danby offers visitors easy access to the moorland villages along the Esk Valley and the busy seaside town of Whitby.

Onsite drying facilities and secure cycle store make us a welcome stopover for travellers tackling long distance routes such as Wainwright’s Coast-to-Coast or the Cleveland Way National Trail. We can provide a pick-up and drop-off service for smaller groups, as well as an early breakfast option and pack-up lunch for your onward journey.

An accredited Dark Skies Friendly site, at The Fox & Hounds you can make more out of your stay and enjoy breath-taking scenery at night as well as day. Night torches, binoculars and sky maps are all available for guests to use.

Our licensed bar serves a range of traditional cask conditioned Yorkshire real ale, continental lagers and selected quality wines, many of which are available by the glass. We work with local suppliers to provide freshly prepared food for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week. Our delicious homecooked Roast Dinners are available every Sunday lunch – please book to avoid disappointment.
